I write all kinds of internal and external business and marketing communications for print and digital.
I specialize in trimming word count and using plain language to make your message understood.
I draw on 15+ years of teaching experience to help others be better writers and editors of their own work.
I am indebted to Nancy for the writing and editing support she provided. She brought a great eye to her work and used her excellent analytical skills to understand our needs and then work to address them in ways that made the most sense. Nancy also went above-and-beyond in providing editing support in the midst of some time-off she had planned, and this support ended up playing an important role in a huge win for our organization. As I said, I am indebted. And on top of all that, she is a very n…
I am the Executive Director of the Minnesota State Bar Association, and am writing to recommend Nancy Hupp who worked at the Minnesota State Bar Association for approximately seven years. She began as an editor and was later promoted to director of one of our most popular online services. Nancy was a valuable employee who contributed to the growth of our resources and established processes for the design and review of the forms we provide to members. She is/was an bright, analytical, and percept…
Nancy took long legal-sized forms and came up with a style guide to make them more readable. These were the MSBA Real Property Forms, the purchase agreement forms for residential real estate. Very dense and wordy, and full of styles that make it more difficult to read. I was chair of the committee, and Nancy met with us over several meetings to show us how the changes would enhance the look of the document. Never lost her patience with us slow learners!
Nancy Hupp’s most enviable talent isn’t just an ability to write well, but an ability to write prolifically and compellingly in a demanding and often ambiguous environment. Her dedication to creating great work under any circumstances allowed her to produce some amazing content for Project CAP — including some of the most engaging concepts and mind-grabbing opening paragraphs I’ve ever read. My only regret is that her time with us was far too short.
Nancy is a wonderful writer—she writes precisely with a sense of humor and joy. She has the natural instincts of a great story-teller, and she brings that talent to all of her writing.
Nancy and I worked together at Project CAP where she reported to me. I could always count on Nancy to deliver well written and creative content while meeting demanding deadlines. She is willing to go above and beyond to complete a project and her legal background proved to be an asset as she drafted several contracts for our group. Nancy is a talented and hardworking employee.
Nancy was able to learn our project needs quickly and synthesize down a number of documents for us. Her best asset is her ability to take lengthy, wordy documents and boil them down in simple, easy to read paragraphs. She is really great at taking a concept and giving you a simple way to describe it or an easy way to read. Furthermore, I appreciated her honest input and straightforward feedback.
I have had the pleasure working with Nancy Hupp in various capacities over the past decade. Most recently, Nancy was my colleague at the Minnesota Bar Association where she directed practicelaw.org. Her organizational and writing skills are superb and they kept the website and its resources current and relevant.
Nancy has been a wonderful freelancer for Celarity. She has worked with some of our most respected clients, in a variety of industries, and has always exceeded expectations. Nancy is a hard-working individual who knows how to get the job done quickly and effectively. She works well as a part of a team and can function as a leader when needed. Always exhibits superior communication skills and gets along well with staff and supervisors. Highly respected by colleagues, customers and myself! N…
Nancy has a fine mind, wit, integrity, and skill as a writer. She has the capacity to both digest the details and appreciate the nuances as she plies her trade, whether for a technical undertaking or for something more creative.
